Surkanda devi temple
Surkanda devi temple is dedicated to goddess of power which holds very crucial religious importance. This temple is in Dhanaulti of district tehri garhwal. Surkanda devi temple is 11km from Kanathal, 3km from Kaddukhal, 40km from Mussoorie and 24km from Chamba at an altitude of 3030mtr above sea level. Surkanda devi temple is in such a height that we can get a beautiful view of all surrounding as well as of Dehradun, Rishikesh, Pratapnagar, Chakrata and Chandrabadni.
As per legend, goddess ‘Sati’ sacrificed herself in the yagya as her father humiliated her husband (Shiva) meanwhile Shiva was stricken with brief and put her on his shoulder and walk through this place on his way back to Kailash with the dead body of Sati unconsciously, the head part fell down at this place where Surkanda devi stands. Surkanda devi is one of the shakti peeth. Due to fall of head of Sati, this place is named as Sirkanda but later on named as Surkanda as the time passes.
Surkanda devi temple is surrounded by dense forest and mountain covered with snow which offers a best place for photoshoot with fresh and pure air. Snow is seen in winter and mist and fog in summer.

Binsar mahadev temple
Binsar mahadev temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva. which is situated at an altitude of 2480mtr. It is about 22 km from Thalisain and 26 km from Almora. It is believed that this temple was build in a single day. Where along with Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha and goddess Parvati and Durgha are worshiped.
Binsar mahadev temple is known for its archaeological finesse. It was built around 9-10 century by King Kalyan chand of Chand dynasty. This temple can be seen crowded every time. But on Vaikunth Chaturdashi, large crowd can be seen as ladies came here to full fill their desire of child. They pray to God whole night by putting lamp on their palm. This place attract the visitors through its panoramic view of the mesmeric snow capped Himalayan ranges. Sai darbaar Temple
Sai darbaar Temple is one of the well known temple in Dehradun. It is situated about 8 km from clock tower in Dehradun on Rajput road. Sai darbaar is a colorful temple made of marbles and the interior of the temple is decorated with peerless painting with fascinating colors where idol of holy shrine is placed at the center of the temple. Besides sai idol all religion god goddess paintings are also placed in the temple. Devotees came here from far away places irrespective of their caste, creed and religion. This temple is situated far away from hustle bustle of the city traffic in a peaceful place and is surrounded by mango and litchi trees. Sai temple is maintained by private organization. Santala Devi Temple
Santala devi Temple is the holy shrine of goddess Santala and her brother. Santala devi Temple is one of the most visited place. It is about 15km from Dehradun city in santaur Garh/ Garhi cantt in between dense forest. Devotees came here from far away places for taking blessings of goddess Santala devi and her brother.
According to the legend, when the Santala devi and her brother was unable to face the invasion of Mughal army they decided to abandoned their weapon and prayed to God. A divine light emerged suddenly and within a moment they turned into stone idols. This was the day of Saturday when they both transform into stone. That is why a massive crowd is seen on Saturday. After this incident a shrine was built itself in the fort and from that day onward thousands of people worship. This temple is also known with different names like Santaura devi temple, Santaula devi temple. Santala devi temple can be reached only through 2 km trekking from Punjabiwala. This place attract tourists not only from India but also from foreign countries as it is situated in a peaceful location, surrounded by green dense forest which locate bloom in the beauty of the temple. Prakasheshwar- Shiva temple
Prakasheshwar temple is dedicated to Hindu god Lord Shiva and it is known as Prakasheshwar mahadev Mandir among local people. Which is one of the famous temple of Shiva in Dehradun. It is located about 12km from Dehradun on Mussoorie road near Kuthal gate.
Shiva temple is situated between dense forest in a peace and calm place far away from the hustle bustle of the city. Everyday prayer is held at the temple and special pooja is held on the occasion of mahashivratri and in sawan month. Temple is decorated at that time with flowers, garland and lighting. This is the only temple where offering and donation is not acceptable. Devotees are not allowed to offer anything to the god. They have to just pray God with their pure heart. Everyday bhandara is organized for pilgrims and a bowl of kheer as delicacies is distributed among them.

Koteshwar Temple
Koteshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is about 3 km from Rudraprayag and 159 km from nearest airport- jolly grant Dehradun in Uttarakhand on the bank of Alaknanda river. The koteshwar Temple is in the form of cave where many idols of God and goddess have been formed naturally. Devotees come here from far away places to visit here and to take blessings of the house holy shrine and organize the yagya for at least 3 days especially on Sawan month for the well shake of their fortune. Every year on August and September month large fair held and many devotees come here to worship.
As per legend, it is the place where Lord Shiva prayed Lord Vishnu for his help from the devil Bhasmasur. As the devil Bhasmasur was trying to kill Lord Shiva from his power so the Lord Shiva was hiding from place to place and finally came to this place. In that cave one can see a continuously dripping of water on the shivling which seems that it is paying her devote to Lord Shiva. On the occasion of mahashivratri and sawan, temple is decorated with flowers, bailpatri, garland etc. snakes are generally seen in that area but they never harm anyone. Laxman Siddh Temple
Laxman siddh temple is one of the famous temple of saint-Laxman in Uttarakhand. It is located at a distance of 12 km from Dehradun city at Haridwar Rishikesh road. This temple is surrounded by dense forest of lachhiwala. Laxman siddh temple is famous for its scenic beauty besides its religious significance. This temple is the cremation site of the saint-swami Laxman siddh.
According to the legends this is the place where saint Laxman underwent penance for killing devil king Ravana and meditated for years and then cremated at this place. Thousands of devotees visit here from far away places especially on Sunday for Lord Laxman siddh’s blessings.
